Goodbye, Dr. Mel

Dr. Mel Goldstein, a Connecticut television icon, died Wednesday. He was 66.

Dr. Mel had been fighting Multiple myeloma for several years.

News of his death was saddened generations of Valley residents who grew up watching the mild-mannered weatherman.

He last appeared locally at Written Words in White Hills in September 2009, where he signed copies of Dr. Mel’s Connecticut Climate Book.” 

More than 75 people attended the signing. 

The outpouring of condolences to Dr. Mel’s family and to WTNH on Twitter and Facebook Wednesday was massive.
