Governor Rell Appoints Ansonia Resident to Family Support Council

Gov. M. Jodi Rell has appointed Cathleen M. Adamczyk, of Ansonia, as a member of the Family Support Council as an individual who advocates for children with disabilities. 

The Council www.ctfsc.org is a legislatively established partnership of parents and professionals working to improve supports for families of children with disabilities.

In addition to being a job coach for students with Disabilities in the Ansonia School District, Adamczyk serves as an Advocacy Training Coordinator and research assistant at the University of Connecticut A.J. Pappanikou Center For Developmental Disabilities. She is the founder of the North Star Parent Support/Resource Group and she serves on the Autism Spectrum Resource Center’s board of directors.

Cathy’s commitment to improving opportunities for young people with disabilities is widely recognized, and I know she will be an excellent addition to this panel,” Governor Rell said. Her work is helping to improve the quality of life in our state. I thank her for her service.”

Adamczyk will serve for a term ending September 30, 2014, or until a successor is appointed and has qualified, whichever is longer.
