The Derby Shelton Rotary held a ceremonial groundbreaking Friday morning for the new Derby Shelton Rotary Pavilion planned for the City of Shelton Downtown Revitalization area, and adjoining the Veterans Memorial walkway and Riverwalk.
The project is being funded by the Derby Shelton Rotary and the City of Shelton.
The project is now moving to final design and bidding overall the winter months with construction anticipated next year, subject to any final approvals of the City of Shelton.
The project is being designed by Tate and Associates of Fairfield, CT.
The pavilion is being dedicated to the memory of Richard Belden, who served in the Connecticut General Assembly for many years representing Shelton residents and businesses.
