Police made four arrests in connection to a purse snatching on Howe Avenue Tuesday night.
A 67-year-old woman at the Victorian Condominiums said she was approached by a man who said he was there to visit his grandmother.
The man grabbed her purse, threw her against a wall and fled, police said.
Emergency medical personnel were sent to the scene to check out a possible fracture to the elderly woman’s arm.
The woman and other witnesses gave police a description of the suspect’s vehicle — a blue Mazda Protege.
Shelton police sent the description to surrounding towns.
The vehicle was stopped by Trumbull police and Bridgeport police near the Beardsley Zoo.
Shelton police arrested all four occupants of the vehicle.
Those arrested include:
Michael Cheever, 24, of Bridgeport. He was charged with third-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, third-degree assault of an elderly person, third-degree assault, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree robbery. He was being held on a $50,000 bond pending a court arraignment.
Rhashaun Houser, 24, and Andre Pottinger, 26, both of Bridgeport, were charged with second-degree breach of peace. They were released on a promise to appear in court July 12.
Lisette Hernandez, 18, of Bridgeport, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree robbery, conspiracy, third-degree assault, third-degree assault of an elderly person and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Hernandez was held on a $50,000 bond and will be appear at Derby Court today (Wednesday, June 30), police said.
