The Oxford Historical Society is hosting its annual Harvest Supper on Saturday, November 13, from 5 – 7 p.m.
The supper will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Hall on the corner of Route 67 and Dutton Road in Oxford.
Adult tickets are $12; tickets for children under 12 are $6. Tickets are available at the door, but reservations are encouraged and may be made by calling Nancy Farnum at 203 888‑0230. All proceeds will go to fund the Twitchell-Rowland Homestead restoration for a town museum.
The menu includes a variety of heritage dishes that long ago residents of Oxford would recognize: baked ham, oven-roasted potatoes, coleslaw, corn bread, applesauce, apple crisp, mulled cider, coffee and tea. The dinner will be served by members of Oxford’s Girl Scout Troops.
Highlighting the evening at 7 p.m. will be the drawing for the raffle to fund the cleaning and conservation of the Society’s 1855 friendship quilt, made for Harriet Chatfield who lived on Chestnut Tree Hill. Tickets will be sold throughout the dinner or may be purchased at the Oxford Town Hall Town Clerk’s Office or by calling Nancy Farnum at 203 888‑0230.
Raffle prizes are a hand-carved American chestnut bowl made by Oxford artisan Peter Petrochko from a beam salvaged from an historic Oxford house, a homespun full-sized quilt stitched by the Homestead Quilters, and a $100 gift certificate to the 121 Restaurant and Bar.
