The following Valley-based non-profit organizations are participating in “The Great Give 2012,” a 36-hour pledge drive created by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.
More than 200 non-profit groups are participating. The event ends 8 p.m. Oct. 17.
As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Center Stage in Shelton had raised $4,366 in eight hours. BHCare of Ansonia clocked in at $935, while the Housatonic Council of the Boy Scouts of America had raised $825.

Potential donors can research the mission of each non-profit and look at documents filed by the orgs from the IRS.
Non-profits with the most donors or most donations can qualify for a number of matching grants.
