
The Naugatuck Valley Health District reported 16 new local COVID-19 cases since Tuesday.
There were:
Five new cases in Shelton
Four new cases in Naugatuck
Three new cases in Ansonia
Two new cases in Derby and Seymour
No new cases were reported in Beacon Falls.
Oxford is within the Pomperaug Health District.
The age breakdown of the 16 new cases since Tuesday (Oct. 13) are as follows:
Seven cases involving people between 30 and 39.
Three cases involving people between 70 and 79.
Two cases involving people between 20 and 29.
The rest were single cases in the age ranges of 10 to 19, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 to 69.
There has not been a COVID-19 associated death in the NVHD’s jurisdiction since July 31.

COVID-19 remains stubborn in the state and across the nation.
On Thursday, the state identified 11 hot spots: towns or cities where the average daily rate of COVID-19 cases is 15 or more per 100,000 people.
The hot spots, colored red in the image below, include Danbury, East Lyme, Montville, Norwich, New London, Preston, Sprague, Griswald, Canterbury, Windham, and Hartford.
