Here Is The Latest COVID-19 Data From The Naugatuck Valley Health District

The Naugatuck Valley Health District reported 20 new COVID-19 positive test results between Sept. 8 and Sept. 15, according to data released Tuesday.

In all, 1,807 positive tests have been reported since March. As of Sept. 8, that total stood at 1,787, a comparison of the last two reports show.

The Naugatuck Valley Health District is based in Seymour. Its jurisdiction includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, not Oxford, Seymour and Shelton.

Oxford is part of the Pomperaug Health District.

No new COVID-associated deaths were reported Tuesday. There hasn’t been a COVID-19 associated death reported within the Naugatuck Valley Health District’s territory since July 31.

Ansonia picked up three new reported cases between Sept. 8 and Sept 15. The city has seen 293 cases since March.

Beacon Falls picked up zero new cases between Sept. 8 and Sept. 15. The town has seen 59 total cases since March.

Derby picked up zero new cases between Sept. 8 and Sept. 15. The city has seen 182 total COVID-19 cases since March.

Naugatuck picked up seven new cases between Sept. 8 and Sept. 15. It has seen 428 cases since March.

Oxford is part of the Pomperaug Health District.

Seymour has experienced one new case between Sept. 8 and Sept. 15. The town has seen 226 positive cases since March.

Shelton picked up nine new positive cases between Sept. 8 and Sept. 15. The city has seen 619 cases total since March.

According to data from a state health department website, lower Naugatuck Valley towns and cities all had COVID-19 positivity rates under 1 percent between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5. The data was made available Sept. 10.

According to the Johns Hopkins University online COVID-19 tracker, about 9,100 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Connecticut.

As schools open for the fall, results of positive COVID-19 tests have been trickling in. Emmett O’Brien Technical High School sent a message Sept. 14 saying a person or people at the school tested positive.

A Shelton school reported two positive tests last week.

Naugatuck High School reported a positive test result last week, too.
