Hey Merchants: Learn About Ansonia’s Storefront Loan Program

Ansonia merchants and building owners are invited to a forum Tuesday (Aug. 6) to learn about the city’s new storefront loan program.

The forum will start at 6 p.m. at Antonio’s restaurant at 314 Main St. in Ansonia.

Vinnie Scarlata, chairman of the city’s Economic Development Commission, spent last Thursday and Friday dropping info packets about the program off to various city businesses.

Loans of up to $2,000 are available for merchants and building owners wanting to improve storefronts.

Projects must be approved by the city’s Economic Development Commission, subject to established guidelines, as per the documents posted below.

The loan offers zero-percent interest, payable within two years.

In addition, the city’s Economic Development Commission has invited People’s United Bank and Naugatuck Savings Bank to Tuesday’s forum.

Bank officials will be on hand to introduce their small-business loan programs.

Finally, local contractors offering discounted work for merchants receiving loans will also be on hand.

For more information about the loan program, please read the documents below.

The city’s Economic Development Commission lists its phone number as (203) 736‑5930.
