The high school football season is officially underway, which means the coffee-swilling, ink-stained wretches — sports writers — are weighing in on which teams are looking good.
The venerable high school football preview from the New Haven Register hit the streets today with its rundown of teams to watch.
Interestingly enough, Sean “Special Delivery” Bowley published the poll on his blog last night.
Seymour and Shelton come in at numbers four and five, according to the poll.
Ansonia rounds out the top 10.
The common theme in the reaction to the Register poll — very hard to predict a high school football season before it starts.
“Overall, it’s a good opening ranking, in my opinion,” the Bowlmeister says.
Meanwhile, our friends over at the NVL Football Blogosphere are thinking Seymour may be able to live up to its pre-season hype. MaxPreps picked the Wildcats as a team one to watch.
