Historic Garden Tours Scheduled in Derby

The Osborne Homestead Museum, along with the other 13 members of the prestigious Connecticut Historic Gardens Trail, will celebrate Connecticut Historic Gardens Day on Sunday, June 24, by offering special tours of the museum and garden. 

From noon to 4 p.m., visitors can enjoy guided tours of the museum’s lovely Colonial Revival gardens. 

After strolling through the gardens, visitors can visit the historic house museum and learn about Frances Osborne Kellogg’s passion for gardening and land conservation. Complimentary museum and garden tours will be offered every half hour on the hour. 

The Connecticut Historic Gardens Trail offers visitors an opportunity to explore a variety of garden styles and time periods. More information about the Connecticut Historic Gardens can be found at www.cthistoricgardens.org.

The Osborne Homestead Museum, a facility of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, is open for free guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. The museum is located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue in Derby.
