Celebrate Shelton creators Nicole Heriot-Mikula, Michael Skrtic & Jimmy Tickey are continuing their holiday event series in downtown Shelton.
“Over the next two Saturdays – December 10th and December 17th – we will be welcoming over 20 handmade artisans for our Downtown Handmade Market. From candles to unique soaps, winter clothing and home goods, we have a wide range of locally made goods. We encourage you to visit our handmade markets at the Conti Building in Downtown Shelton,” said Heriot-Mikula.
The Holiday Handmade Markets take place on December 10th and December 17th from 10am-3pm at the Conti Building – 415 Howe Ave, Shelton. All are welcome, and the event is free to attend. Featuring live music, children’s activities, and over 20 handmade artisan vendors!
“When we shop local, we are supporting business owners who are our friends and neighbors, while strengthening our local economy. We invite you to join us for our downtown handmade markets and purchase locally made goods this holiday season,” Tickey added.
Each week, a collection of local artisans, craftsmen and small businesses showcase their wares at Celebrate Shelton’s Downtown Handmade Market. The full list of artisans for December 10th include: Auntie Arwen’s Spices, Blue Heron Knits, BringtheHoopla, Chad Anderson Photography, Draw The Line Apparel, Facepainting by Carina, Glass Source, Greystone Bookworks, Grow, Happie Hippie Heads, Kilbride Creations, Magic Cafe, Oronoque Farms, Quark Tees, Renn’s Recreation Sally Russo, Steven James Jewelry, suki LLC, Susanna Wesley Art Students, The Drunk Alpaca, The Little Dog Laughed, The Raven & The Rose Handcrafted Soaps, Woody Things and Zayver.
There will be live music from 10:00am – 12:30pm by Tracy Jo and The Toad’s Acoustic Duo; 12:30pm – 3:00pm by Lee-Ann Lovelace & Jim Mckeeman. At 11:15am there will be a special 45 minutes children’s show with Benny Mikula.
The Conti Building Shops include: The Glass Source, BringtheHoopla, Written Words Bookstore, Periodic Tableware, Shadee Lady, Memories from Aunt Helen’s Attic, Nikki’s Attic, Three Bridges Coffee Shop, Sage Yoga, Welcome Relaxation and more!
Last week, Celebrate Shelton’s festivities kicked-off with a Community Tree Lighting on Friday, December 2nd at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Downtown Shelton with performances and a special appearance by Santa. The following day, the first Holiday Handmade Market was held with over 25 artisan vendors. “Our first weekend’s events were well attended by hundreds of families as they helped light our Community Tree and kick-off a holiday shopping season by supporting local artisans,” said Skrtic.
