Here’s a list of tree-lighting schedules in Ansonia, Derby, Seymour & Shelton.

Keep in mind some groups send The Valley Indy information, some don’t, others rely only on social media, Facebook limits page notifications — so this list isn’t exhaustive, but it’s pretty good.

ANSONIA

The Christmas tree will be illuminated at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3.

The location is Veterans Park, next to Ansonia City Hall at 253 Main St.

Santa will be there, and there will be free hot chocolate while supplies last.

The Town of Seymour has A LOT going on this weekend.

Santa will be appearing for free photo ops at the Seymour Historical Society (59 West St.) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 4). Then, on Sunday, Dec. 5, the Historical Society will host a Holly Day Fair” featuring local artists and crafts vendors selling their works. That’s from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday. Click here for more info.

The Seymour Culture & Arts Commission and downtown merchants have a bunch of holiday-themed things happening Saturday, Dec. 4, starting at about 4:30 p.m.

There will be appearances downtown by the Seymour High School dance team, along with the chorus groups from the middle school and the high school. There will be face painting. Citizen’s Engine will be selling soda and hot dogs. Great Hill Hose will have hot chocolate and coffee. Kids can drop off letters to Santa at Seymour Town Hall. There’s even ice-sculpture demonstrations and the American Legion Band!

And, of course, Santa is scheduled to appear at the Seymour train station (Main Street) at about 6:25 p.m. Saturday. He usually makes his way off the train, then ambles through downtown to the American Legion, where Seymour First Selectwoman Annmarie Drugonis is scheduled to illuminate the Christmas tree.

It’s A Wonderful Life” is scheduled to screen at the Strand Theatre at 7 p.m. Click this link for details.

SHELTON

Celebrate Shelton is sponsoring a tree lighting party scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3.

It will be held at the Rotary Pavilion at Veterans Memorial Park (38 Canal St. E) in downtown Shelton.

From a press release:

Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided, and there will be shopping local opportunities with artisan vendors and several local Boy Scout Troops selling pies, ornaments, wreaths and poinsettias. There will be performances by Valley Shakespeare Festival and Center Stage Theatre and live music with Benny Mikula next to our first-ever community bonfire!”

The downtown tree lighting will be held at 7:00pm. After the tree lighting, Santa will arrive at 7:15pm on the Echo Hose Hook & Ladder Fire Truck. Children are encouraged to meet Santa and take a photo. Santa will be waving and standing with children, rather than seated. Santa has a lot of stops to make and we want him healthy for Christmas! Guests are reminded to bundle up in case it’s a chilly night.”
