A 70-year-old man faces two minor charges after accidentally scaring the bejesus out of a Governors Hill Road resident.
According to a report from the Resident State Trooper’s Office, the elderly chap knocked on the resident’s door Friday afternoon, seeking permission to pick some mushrooms on the property.
One problem — the man was holding a six-inch knife.
That didn’t go over well with the resident, who called 911.
After the resident failed to answer the door, the 70-year-old proceeded to pick the mushrooms. The knife was to cut the ‘shrooms.
“It was determined that the accused walked up to the door to ask permission to pick the mushrooms, but never received it,” according to Oxford police.
The man was charged with trespass and breach of peace.
The Valley Indy opted not to publish his name because the charges are minor.
