Images From Seymour Bank Robbery Released

Seymour police are asking for your help to catch the man who robbed a bank Friday (March 14).

Police received a 911 call at about 4 p.m. from employees inside the First Niagara bank on First Street reporting the crime.

The bank is in the Seymour Shopping Plaza, near AutoZone.

There were no injuries reported.

According to a statement from police, a man passed a hand-written note to a bank teller demanding money.

After receiving an undetermined” amount of money, the suspect left and walked toward First Street.

Police said he may have then gotten into a vehicle.

Police were able to look at surveillance video and released images of the suspect Monday (March 17).

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall. He was wearing blue jeans, a gray and blue jacket with some kind of emblem, a green Boston Red Sox hat and glasses.

Anyone who was visiting the downtown area in Seymour on Friday afternoon and possibly may have heard or seen anything suspicious is asked to contact the Seymour Police Department Detective Division at 203- 881‑7624 or 203 – 881-7638. All information will be kept confidential,” Deputy Chief Paul Satkowski said in a prepared statement.
