
DERBY — A Fourth of July Celebration is scheduled for 11 a.m. July 4 on the Derby Green off Elizabeth Street. That location could move to the Derby Community Center at 35 Fifth St. if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
An essay contest awards ceremony is scheduled, along with Colonial demos and games, and food and music.
The 11 a.m. July 4 event is sponsored by American Legion Post 24, Catholic War Veterans Post 1562, Derby Catholic Veterans Auxiliary Post 1562, The Derby Cultural Commission, Derby Elks Lodge 571, The Derby Historical Society and the Derby Police Department.
