Derby Historical Society’s Annual Meeting will begin with a brief business portion to elect our new Officers and Board of Directors, and the presentation of the David Humphreys Service Award. 

Elaine Brandon, DHS Board Member, will present The Society with a copy of a new book, Anson’s Glory: Ansonia and Phelps-Dodge” written by her aunt, Elizabeth Crossland Matricariato.

Our Guest Speaker, William Purcell, President of Valley Chamber of Commerce will give a presentation on the proposed Naugatuck River Valley National Heritage Area, followed by a short film and power point on the sites of the proposed Heritage Area.

Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the meeting.

The Derby Historical Society is a regional historical society dedicated to preserving, maintaining and celebrating the rich and varied history of the Lower Naugatuck Valley. The Derby Historical Society welcomes all visitors and is also available to support researchers, school or other program needs.
