
ANSONIA – A 35-year-old man was still in the hospital Monday after being shot several times Saturday near West Main Street and Bridge Street in downtown Ansonia.
The victim was shot three times and is listed in serious but stable condition in an area hospital. He is expected to recover, police said on Monday (March 21).
Lt. Patrick Lynch said police are reviewing surveillance footage and are hoping to talk to people who were in the area at the time of the shooting.

Police received several reports of shots fired at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police said the victim was shot on West Main near Bridge Street – and that additional shots were fired further down West Main Street near Water Street. No additional injuries were reported, though a parked vehicle was hit by gunfire.
Police learned there was a victim in connection to the shooting because Griffin Hospital called police saying a man with gunshot wounds had showed up at the emergency room.
Lynch said police are following leads and the investigation is ongoing.
