Seymour police arrested a 30-year-old woman Saturday after they allegedly found heroin and drug paraphernalia in her home, along with a minor child.
Suzannah Avila was charged with risk of injury to a minor, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
Police would not say the age or the relationship of the child found in a bedroom with the drug paraphernalia. A family member alerted police that there was drug paraphernalia at the house, according to police Lt. Paul Satkowski.
Police found a small amount of heroin and some pills at the home, Satkowski said.
Avila was held over the weekend at the Seymour lockup in lieu of $25,000 bond.
She appeared at Derby Superior Court Monday and bond was lowered to $5,000, but she could not pay it and was retained in custody at Niantic, according to a court clerk.
Here are other calls Seymour police responded to over the weekend.
