Beginning on Monday, May 14, permit stickers for Jackson Cove Park will be available for purchase at the Oxford Town Hall during its regular business hours, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.
They will be sold in the Parks and Recreation office or receptionist’s office. Resident Permit stickers are available to all Oxford residents for the seasonal cost of $20.00 per sticker purchased.
You must bring in your driver’s license (or similar form of ID) as proof of residence, and a copy of the vehicle registration for each vehicle (including boats), needing the permit.
New this year:We will need your license plate number as well.
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Jackson Cove Beach is staffed by gate attendants who will admit only the vehicles that display either the “resident” sticker, or a non-resident day pass. Each vehicle — including boats — that a resident brings into the park must have the permit sticker adhered to the vehicle.
“Guest” cars will no longer be permitted. Per Town Ordinance, the permits must be affixed onto the windshield for admission to the park. If it is not affixed to the windshield, access will be denied. The permit fee for one vehicle is waived for active and veteran military personnel who produce a proper ID verifying their service.
New this year: Oxford residents can purchase a “walk-in” pass for $20 for their family. This can only be used for those family members who wish to walk or bike into the park. It does NOT replace the vehicle permit. If entering the park by car, a resident sticker or non-resident day pass will be required. People who are dropped off at the park will need the proper “walk-in” pass.
Resident Boat Launch Permits are still $50 for each vessel. Residents purchasing both the car and boat stickers at the same time will receive a $10 discount off the combination price.
Non-resident boat stickers are available for season passes for the cost of $350.00. These passes can be purchased only at the Town Hall. There are no single-day boat passes available for non-residents.
Non-residents will need a single-day “beach only” pass that can be purchased at The Southford Store – at the intersection of Route 67 and Route 188. The Southford Store is open Monday through Saturday. The day passes cost $25 per day (per vehicle) and can be used any day. Non-resident day passes are not sold at the beach or at Town Hall!
The Pavilion can be reserved by Oxford residents only by calling the Parks and Rec office. The cost to reserve the pavilion is $100 for 4 hours or $200 for the whole day. Call the Parks and Rec office to reserve – or you can go onto our website www.oxfordrec.com to check the pavilion’s availability.
All gates, including the boat launch gate, are locked each night at dusk and will be reopened each morning at 7 a.m. Any vehicles left in the parking lot at night will be towed at the owner’s expense.
