Oxford, CT (June 2024) BHcare’s A Chance to Shine Fundraising Walk and Free Community Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 1 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Quarry Walk in Oxford.
This event will benefit all BHcare’s programs, which includes The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services, Hope Family Justice Center, Parent Child Resource Center, Alliance for Prevention and Wellness and BHcare’s mental health and substance use services.
The morning will kick off at 10:00 am with A Walk to Remember Lori Jackson, a former Oxford resident who lost her life to domestic violence. Participants are invited to walk in memory of their loved ones who may have lost their lives or are survivors of domestic violence, mental health issues or substance use. The cost for registration is $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 5 – 18 and children 4 and under are free. Register at achancetoshinect.org
The walk will be followed by a FREE community celebration with fun for the whole family. The day will feature live music by Morgan Skelly and the Old Crows, inflatables, more than 40 vehicles for touch-a-truck, face painting, raffles, lawn games and more! At noon, a kids’ bike parade around the green will be led by Joe Furey, Co-Chief Meteorologist at WTNH News 8with free helmets for those who preregister for the event. Guests can also enjoy the wonderful shops and dining options located throughout picturesque Quarry Walk, you even have the opportunity to view it all from above on a scenic HTX helicopter tour! There is something for everyone!
