There were no surprises Tuesday in the race for state Senate in the 32nd District, where incumbent Rob Kane was re-elected.
Kane was winning, 29,415 to 14,891, as of about midnight, according to results from the state’s Secretary of State.
Kane represents Seymour, as does state Sen. Kevin Kelly, who was also re-elected to represent the Senate’s 21st District. Kelly was winning 30,966 to 16,561.
Kane was first elected in 2008. His opponent was Democrat Greg Cava, a lawyer from Roxbury.
The 32nd District covers Watertown, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Middlebury, Oxford, Roxbury, Seymour, Southbury, Washington and Woodbury.
Kelly also represents part of Oxford. Kane also represents Oxford.
Kelly defeated Straford’s Prez Palmer, an Army veteran as well as a realtor and financial adviser.
