Students at the high school were sent home at 9:15 a.m. Monday after the building’s heating system stopped working, principal Cathy Goodrich said.
“There is a problem with the boiler,” Goodrich said.
Crews were working on the boilers as of 10:30 a.m.
The temperature dropped to 40 degrees in some classrooms, Goodrich said. The outside temperature was 24 degrees as of 9:45 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Goodrich expects the problem to be resolved today and classes to resume Tuesday.
If the heat can’t be restored, the district will send out a message through its Connect Ed system.
