Landlords Group To Meet In Shelton

FILEIn an effort to help improve the rental housing industry in the Naugatuck Valley, the Connecticut Property Owners Alliance, Inc. (CTPOA) is hosting its first event in the area on Wednesday, March 26, 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Shelton City Hall (54 Hill St.).

The agenda includes speakers representing the lending, energy efficiency and tenant screening industries that will enlighten property owners on new services and programs designed to improve conditions for rental property owners.

Mayor Mark Lauretti of Shelton, former Mayor of New Britain and current New Britain Chamber of Commerce president Tim Stewart are also scheduled to speak.

Bob De Cosmo, president and lobbyist for the CTPOA, states: Landlords in general face many different issues and CTPOA creates an educational forum to exchange information and ideas at our meetings. We are also active at the Connecticut State Capitol on legislation involving rental property ownership. Unfortunately, common-sense appears to have taken a vacation lately on some policy proposals that impact landlords. Now more than ever, it is important to organize like minded people to work towards a common goal of restoring prosperity, profitability, and respect to private rental housing ownership.”

The event is open ot the public.
