
SEYMOUR — The Naugatuck Valley Health District reported four additional COVID-19 related deaths from nursing homes in the lower Valley.
The deaths were noted Monday, but may have happened in the past week, according to a daily statement from the health district.
There were two deaths at an unnamed facility in Naugatuck, along with single deaths at unnamed nursing homes in Seymour and Shelton.
There have been 139 COVID-19 associated deaths in the lower Naugatuck Valley since March. There have been an additional 24 probable virus-related deaths, according to the health district.
The Naugatuck Valley Health District’s jurisdiction includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour and Shelton. Oxford is covered by the Pomperaug Health District.

Here is a town-by-town breakdown of COVID-19 positive tests in the health district’s jurisdiction:
Ansonia: 201 (a 13.5 percent increase since May 1)
Beacon Falls: 41 (10 percent increase)
Derby: 123 (10.8 percent increase)
Naugatuck: 252 (36 percent increase)
Seymour: 189 (18.8 percent increase)
Shelton: 454 (9.3 percent increase)
TOTAL: 1,260 (16.2 percent increase since May 1)
Twenty six percent (333 people) of the 1,260 positive tests are people living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes and similar facilities, according to the health district. Of the 333 nursing home or similar facility cases — 38 percent have died.

Naugatuck: 11
Seymour: 32, 2 probable
Shelton: 91, 21 probable
