I’m Mayor David S. Cassetti and let me tell you why I’m PICKING THE PROFESSOR, Dr. Josh Shuart for State Representative of the 104th District, representing Ansonia and Derby.
As Mayor of this Great City, I can’t do my job alone. I need strong capable people who see the value in and support the initiatives we have in Ansonia. That is why I strongly support and endorse Josh Shuart for State Representative.
Josh is the President of the Board of Aldermen in Ansonia so he has led our legislative delegation on votes that support budgets that lower taxes and protect our residents. He has supported and led the board in voting in favor of our efforts to purchase, clean and demolish the Pandel property which is one of the last developable pieces of property left and he has supported our new Police Station moving to the downtown area. Josh participates in almost every city meeting that occurs and he visits with me weekly to understand the residents and issues they may have.
I want someone who communicates with me before they take a vote. I want someone who will work with me instead of trying to undermine me. Our success is everyone’s success. We work as a team and Josh knows the importance of teamwork. He works hard on the things that matter to Ansonia residents. He will work hard to keep taxes on the state level low, to protect our law enforcement, not criminals. He will elevate our community, not try to point out statistics from a report to tell us how we are doing. He and his family have spent most of their adult life living and going to school in Ansonia and Derby and the Shuarts are here to stay.
Josh is not only a Professor at Sacred Heart University, but he is a dedicated public servant who understand the importance of education, families, our seniors and our public safety. I’m picking the professor because he will make the right choices in Hartford. He’s not a follower. He’s a proven leader. He will sit down with me on a regular basis to make sure the state’s priorities are in line with our local priorities. He will vote with us, not with the party in charge in Hartford to make things easier on working families, seniors and all residents of Ansonia and Derby.
