Letter: Derby School Board Candidate Seeks Support On Election Day

To the Editor:

My name is Jim Gildea and I am the Chairman of the Derby Board of Education. I have been a member of the Derby Board of Education for 22 years. I have served as chairman for 16 of those years, including the last 4. I am asking for your support to serve another term this Election Day.

I love our great City. I was born and raised in Derby and attended the Derby public school system. I have raised my own children, some who have graduated from the Derby public school system and others who still attend our schools. I care very deeply about serving our city and trying to make Derby the best it can be.

I have always considered it a privilege to serve the citizens of Derby. I take very seriously my obligation to represent you and I do my best to attend all meetings and follow up on any concern that is brought to my attention.

I would also take this opportunity to ask you to vote for the entire Team that I am running with:

Laura Harris (current member)
Rebecca O’Hara (current member)
Tara Hyder (current member)
Joe Iorfino (current member)
Jennifer Caruso

We have accomplished so much as Board of Education over the last few years, and I hope we can continue to move the school system forward. I am once again asking for your support on Election Day.

Thank you

Jim Gildea
Chairman, Derby Board of Education
