Letter: People Over Politics

DERBY — To the Editor,

I realized early on when working with Mayor Rich Dziekan that he and I had something very much in common. We both have a belief that progress, results and relationships are much more important than which political party you belong to.

During this election season, the Mayor’s philosophy was clear. He wanted to pick the best candidates for office and who would best move Derby forward. In that regard, Team Dziekan includes your fellow neighbors, friends and family members and just as important this slate of candidates also includes Democrats, Republicans and Unaffiliated voters.

I think that what is certainly very noteworthy is that Rich has a very broad support of Democrats, Republicans and Unaffiliated voters. What is significantly more important is that these same people feel so strongly about the work that Mayor Dziekan and his administration has done up to now, that they more than just support him, they are willing to stand side-by-side with him and run on his ticket.

When you head to the polls this Election Day, there is only one candidate for Mayor who can make the claim that they have a proven track record of putting the people of Derby over politics and who has a slate of candidates as politically diverse as Team Dziekan and that candidate is Mayor Rich Dziekan. This speaks volumes.
