Liquid Lunch Donates Soup To Homeless Shelter

A local lunch restaurant has been donating hot soup to the Valley’s homeless shelter for the past couple of weeks.

Liquid Lunch owner Michele Bialek said she was trying to come up with a way to give back to the community, despite the bad economy.

“We hadn’t been able to do a whole lot in the community lately because with the economy being the way it is, we’re kind of stuck like everybody else,” Bialek said.

“So what we’re trying to do is figure out what else we can give back. The money situation isn’t very great, but when we make food we make a lot of food.”

Liquid Lunch has been donating about 12 quarts of soup – which feeds roughly 35 people – to the Area Congregations Together Spooner House, the regional homeless shelter.

The homeless shelter, on Todd Road in Shelton, can house up to 13 men, 13 women and two families at any given time.
