It appears 13 was a lucky number for the Derby All-Class Reunion this year.
Not only did the weather cooperate during the 13th year of this event held the Saturday of Labor Day weekend but a new feature was added.
Classmates from literally around the world had an opportunity to see “live” what was happening via a video uplink.
Derby Alumnus Jack Walsh used the Ustream app for his i‑Phone and was able broadcast live video of the festivities.
There were people viewing from Israel at 4 a.m. their time as well as in Cheyenne WY, Baltimore MD, Chesapeake VA and at least a couple people from Florida.
Video that night was first broadcast from the Derby Elks Lodge and then Walsh walked down Elizabeth Street to Archie Moore’s for a broadcast from there as well.
In the photo taken at Archie Moore’s, Jack Walsh on the right can be seen setting up his phone to broadcast live as Derby Alumni from several decades get ready to greet fellow classmates from around the world.
