SHELTON — Progressive Diagnostics, Fairfield County’s local Covid-19 RT-PCR clinical lab, recently opened a second testing location in Shelton this month.
This is the company’s ninth testing location. Progressive’s lab is located in Trumbull, and unlike other Covid testing labs has provided same day test results throughout the pandemic if tests take place before 12pm weekdays. If tested after 12pm on weekdays, results are promised the next day (but are usually reported the same day around midnight). Weekends and holiday situations may differ.

Progressive’s CEO Curt Kuliga says, “We know that behind each test we perform is a concerned individual with equally concerned family, friends and colleagues. Our RT-PCR testing is the most accurate technology available today with true positive and negative rates of 98% and 99%, respectively. Speed is one of our advantages. The company’s employees, along with its affiliate Progressive Institute, an outpatient mental health and addiction treatment provider, donate testing proceeds to local mental health and addiction treatment organizations.
Progressive Diagnostics has made the testing experience quick, easy and affordable. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments can be easily scheduled on their website’s Home page or the Book an Appointment page. Results are provided through a HIPPA compliant online portal. The company also provides no costs in-school testing for grades PreK – 12, colleges, private businesses and homeless shelters.
