Lorenzo Johnston Greene Symposium Will Be Held On June 22

This event will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Greene, a renowned teacher/historian and researcher/author of African American history, as well as a humanitarian/civil rights activist who used his scholarly work to bring attention to the history and plight of his community. Dr. Greene worked closely with Dr. Carter G. Woodson for many decades.”

The symposium will be held at the Ansonia Public Library on 53 S. Cliff St. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Speakers at the event include Dr. Kerima Lewis (Emerson College), Dr. Chernoh Sesay (DePaul University), Sean Osborne (Association of Black Citizens of Lexington), and Dr. Anthony Holland.

Dr. Debra and Thomas Greene, the daughter-in-law and son of Dr. Lorenzo Greene, will speak virtually, as well as professor Mark Peterson (Yale University).
