SEYMOUR — State police said a Watertown resident was charged early Saturday for allegedly driving drunk in the wrong direction on Route 8.
Brian A. Morrison, 37, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, along with driving the wrong way on a divided highway. He’s due in Superior Court in Derby on Jan. 9, 2023.
State police said they received reports around 4:30 a.m. Saturday saying a vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Route 8. Troopers said they responded, located the vehicle, and pulled it over. Police said Morrison was behind the steering wheel.
“Morrison appeared disoriented and was unaware that he was traveling the wrong direction on the highway,” troopers said in a prepared statement.
Morrison also failed a field sobriety test, police said.
After being processed Morrison was released on a $500 bond.
