Man Gets Jail For Route 8 DUI Crash

A 53-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to six months in prison for driving under the influence.

Eric A. Jensen crashed his car on Route 8 north in Seymour in March, according to information read in court by chief state’s attorney Paul Gaetano.

State police responding to the crash smelled alcohol on his breath. Jensen’s blood alcohol content was .17, about twice the legal limit, according to Gaetano.

Jensen’s prison sentence will be suspended after 60 days. He will be on probation for two years.

Jensen also has several criminal charges pending in Waterbury, including second-degree assault, a felony.

This is his first DUI conviction. He must also pay a $1,000 fine.
