Man Hit By Vehicle In Derby Has Died

DERBY — A man who was hit by a vehicle Dec. 15 has died, police reported on Monday.

He has been identified as John Jepson, 61.

Jepson was walking on Division Street near a railroad crossing at about 9:21 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. Click this link for a previous story.

The vehicle left the scene, but police said a 19-year-old man is suspected of being the driver of the white Infiniti that struck Jepson.

Police have not released the suspect’s name because formal charges have yet to be filed.

According to posts on local social media pages, Jepson was employed by the McDonald’s restaurant on Division Street.

Police are still investigating the accident and formal charges are expected against the driver of the vehicle who fled the scene,” police said in a social media post.
