A 25-year-old man was treated at Griffin Hospital Wednesday after a kitchen fire at a house at 22 Lady Slipper Drive Wednesday.
According to information posted on the Echo Hose Fire Company’s website, the fire was reported at 9:25 p.m.
The first firefighters on the scene saw heavy smoke coming from the two-story house. The occupants were outside. Firefighters stretched a hose through the front door and were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
Firefighters searched the house and were able to locate a dog inside. The animal was treated by an EMS crew at the scene.
The fire was under control within 45 minutes. A firefighter said a neighbor had attacked the blaze with a fire extinguisher, which probably slowed the fire’s advance beyond the kitchen.
Property tax records state the property is owned by James and Linda Capra.
