Man Injured In Seymour House Fire

Seymour Fire Department responds to a house fire at 1 Lynn Terr.

SEYMOURA man was taken to the hospital after a house fire on Lynn Terrace on Thursday (Aug. 15).

The man’s condition and identity were not released as of 7:34 p.m. Thursday.

Members of the Seymour Fire Department responded to a call that came in at 5:58 p.m. reporting a fire on Lynn Terrace. By 6:15 p.m., the front of the house was engulfed in flames, and neighbors had gathered to watch.

One neighbor said that there was one resident living in the house, and that she saw him leave. Seymour Police Chief John Bucherati said that he was transported to Bridgeport Hospital.

The state fire marshal, Seymour fire marshal, and Seymour police department are investigating the cause of the fire.

Ansonia, Oxford, and Beacon Falls provided mutual aid during the fire. All of Lynn Terrace, and parts of Pearl Street remained closed as of 7:15 p.m.

Land records show that the single-family, 1,056 square foot house was constructed in 1910.
