Man Stabbed, Robbed In Ansonia

A 24-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach during a robbery on Tremont Street early Sunday.

According to Ansonia police, the man and his 21-year-old female companion were in a car that broke down on the street at about 4:30 a.m.

Four men approached them, stole the man’s phone and stabbed him. His injuries were described as non-life threatening,” police said.

After stabbing the 24-year-old, the suspects then robbed the woman’s purse.

The man was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The suspects are described as black males in their early 20s. They were seen in an older Toyota, possibly silver, police said in an e‑mail.

This case is still under investigation and no arrests have been made yet, police said.
