Someone tried to rob the Shell gas station on Great Hill Road Tuesday morning.
The station is next to Tri-Town Plaza on the border of Ansonia and Seymour, just off Route 8.
According to information from Ansonia police, a man walked into the station at about 2 a.m. and pulled out a knife.
The clerk could not understand the suspect’s demand, according to police, and asked him to repeat his statement.
The suspect then shoved a cash register off the counter — but fled without taking money.
No injuries were reported.
Police released a statement Wednesday morning describing the suspect as a white male, about six-feet tall, wearing tan shorts, a black shirt — with a black shirt wrapped around his head.
