Marcinek And Purcell To Be Honored By PCRC

The Lower Naugatuck Valley Parent Child Resource Center (PCRC) has announced plans for its 2014 Annual Awards Night, to be held at the Patio at Molto Bene Italian Kitchen in Ansonia, at 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. 

The evening will include hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and awards.

The eighth annual Joseph A. Pagliaro, Sr. Distinguished Service to Children and Families Award will be presented to Michael Marcinek, and the seventh annual Mary Lou Cook Award for Outstanding Service to Children and Families will be presented to Bill Purcell. 

Michael S. Marcinek is Managing Partner, President and Chief Financial Officer of Fletcher Thompson, a 104 year, full-service architectural, engineering and interior design firm. Mike is responsible for setting the firm’s strategic direction, financial reporting and strategic financial planning. He directs the firm’s day-to-day operations which includes managing six offices within five states. 

He currently serves on the Boards of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, Cardinal Sheehan Center, Shelton Economic Development Corporation, Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Parent Child Resource Center.

Bill Purcell has served as the President of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce since 2000. That same year, Bill earned the highest professional designation in the Chamber profession when he was designated a Certified Chamber Executive”, by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. 

Bill has developed a strong record of community service by taking on leadership positions in a variety of worthy organizations and causes, including the Valley United Way, the Boys and Girls Club, ACT/Spooner House and the Parent Child Resource Center.

In 1975, PCRC was established as a non-profit mental health resource for parents and children, and today is the leading provider of behavioral health services for children and families in the Valley, consistently addressing the social and emotional needs of families in the area.
