Mayor Dell: Get Involved In Ansonia, Attend Upcoming Ward Meeting

As Mayor of the City of Ansonia, I’m always impressed with the volunteerism that marks our community as a designated All-American City.

Our volunteers range from sporting coaches; to board and commission members; to firefighters and EMTs; to school organizations raising funds for a worthy cause – overall we have a great number of active, caring people! I’m proud to be your Mayor!

Could we better ourselves? Of course we can. We should all strive to improve our town for future generations.

At this past Tuesday night’s Ward Meeting, a handful of residents weathered the rainstorms to join us at ARMS on West Main Street. After a briefing by the city’s department heads and learning about their functions and activities, our neighbors heard from their local aldermen.

We listened to the residents’ concerns and answered questions ranging from run-down areas to improving the city’s communications through its website. All the topics brought up are realistic concerns that we need to hear and address to move forward.

I urge all residents to join us Tuesday, June 25 at the next Ward Meeting; 7 p.m. at Prendergast School on Finney Street. Please bring your questions and concerns.

We encourage involvement from all residents and, hopefully, we will have a few who would like to volunteer and fill some seats on our many city boards and committees.
