Seymour Memorial Day Parade

Starts at French Park, ends at Seymour Congregational Church

107th Ansonia Memorial Day Parade
2 p.m.
Starts at Nolan Field and will proceed along Wakelee Avenue, down Jackson Street passing in review at City Hall. Proceeds to Big Y Shopping Plaza on Main Street. 

  • The parade is in honor of All Veterans.” A brief ceremony will be held at the front of City Hall to honor our veterans.
  • The parade will feature five (5) divisions, each led by an Ansonia Fire Company.
  • This year’s Honor Fire Company will be the Eagle Hose Company.
  • The parade will have many musical units including the Ansonia High School Band, The Connecticut Hurricanes Corps, New Haven * Gaelic Pipe Band, Washington Park Fife and Drum Corps, Naugatuck High School Band and others, plus floats.
  • There will be Shuttle Bus Service starting at noon from the parking lot at Naugatuck Savings Bank in the Big Y mall.

Derby-Shelton Memorial Service
7 p.m.
Shelton High School
This annual service, organized by the Shelton Police Chief, honors every veteran from Derby and Shelton who has passed away in the last year.
The event lasts about two hours. Each name is read aloud. A keynote speaker will be in attendance. 
The service is open to the public.

Oxford Memorial Day Parade
11 a.m.
Route is from Pleasant Valley Shopping Center north along Route 67 to the Stephen B. Church Memorial Town Hall.
A flyover of aircraft from the 103rd airlift wing could happen between 11:10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., weather permitting.
A reviewing stand will be across from the police station on Route 67.

Derby-Shelton Memorial Day Parade
9 a.m.
Starts at Cottage and Elizabeth streets in Derby

It will go down Elizabeth Street to Main Street then on to Bridge Street. There will be a brief ceremony on the bridge.

The Parade will turn right off the bridge onto Howe Avenue in Shelton.

The parade will then go left onto White Street, left onto Coram Avenue, left onto Center Street and right onto Howe Avenue, ending at Cornell Street.

  • (Per Shelton PD) there will be a parking ban in effect all along the parade route in both cities from 6 a.m. on Monday until about 2 p.m.
    Reminder notices are being placed on vehicles parked along the parade route over the next several days. Vehicles that are not moved prior to the parking ban will be towed and ticketed.
