Minor Flooding In The Forecast For The Housatonic River

A flood warning continues for the Housatonic River at the Stevenson Dam, according to the latest information from the National Weather Service.

The river’s flood stage is 11 feet.

It was at 12.7 feet at 2 a.m. Wednesday. Forecasters say it will rise to 13.1 feet by 2 p.m. Wednesday. Click here for a great resource for Housatonic River conditions.

It is well below the level it was last weekend, when Hurricane Irene rolled through the state. It is also well below its level in March, which saw widespread flooding along its banks.

At 11.5 feet, minor flooding starts at the Maples, a low-lying community in Shelton.
