One person was injured in a house fire Saturday on Highland Avenue in Ansonia.
The owner of the home, who was not identified, was treated for minor burns and released from the hospital Saturday, according to Assistant Fire Chief Joseph Kingston.
The fire — caused by food burning on the stove — started just before 6 p.m. May 19.
By the time firefighters arrived, the fire had spread to engulf the kitchen in flames, and the homeowner was outside.
About 30 volunteer firefighters responded, Kingston said.
They put the fire out within five minutes.
The kitchen suffered fire damage, and the rest of the single-family ranch-style home had smoke and heat damage, he said.
The family is staying with relatives for now, Kingston said.
Kingston did not have an estimate on the amount of damage at the home. A message seeking comment was left with Fire Marshal Ray Tingley.
