
ANSONIA — An 80-year-old woman reported missing Monday was found safe by Tuesday morning.
Ansonia police issued a silver alert Monday for the woman, who lives in Ansonia.
Officials said the woman has Alzheimer’s and had left in her car. She broke down in New Haven.
Two tow truck company employees found her and her vehicle, and helped her get back to Ansonia.
She was taken to a hospital to get checked out.
Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch thanked the public for their assistance in spreading the word about the woman.
Police issued a statement at 3 a.m. Tuesday indicating the woman was safe.
