Martin Luther King Day was honored by the Boys and Girls Club’ s 6 and 7 years olds with a drawing contest.
Conducted by Maria Vega and Liam McDonald,Torch Club members, the 6 & 7 year room kids were treated to reading and information about the Reverend Martin Luther King.
“The kids all seem to enjoy the story of his life,” said Vega. “I don’t know if the younger kids really know what the “I Have a Dream” speech is all about, but they seem to understand that he was a good man and words mean a lot to everyone,” said McDonald.
Shown here is Lilly Taska with her winning drawing of Reverend King giving his most recognized speech.
“I have heard this a few times, and I know he was a great man because he has his own day,” said Taska.
