Movie Filmed At Ansonia’s Armory

Connecticut Office of Film PhotoA motion picture with an established cast and crew filmed scenes at the Ansonia Armory this month.

The film, entitled Another American: Asking and Telling, is an adaptation of a long running off-Broadway play of the same name.

It stars Marc Wolf, who has won Obie, Heleln Hayes and GLAAD awards.

The film is directed by John Walsh (director of Pipe Dream) with Creative Consultant Mary Harron (director of American Psycho, I Shot Andy Warhol and episodes of various cable TV series including Six Feet Under and Oz).

The film is being produced by New York based Decoupage Productions, and is slated to be distributed by Vuguru, a web television company founded by ex-Disney
CEO Micheal Eisner.

Another American’s producers became aware of the Armory through the Connecticut Office of Film, Television & Digital Media. The Office of Film was invited to
tour Ansonia this past summer
in an effort to attract business from the film industry.

The entire film is set inside the Armory. The producers were looking for an old military facility as the backdrop for the film, and toured several other armories before deciding on Ansonia as their location. They filmed in various parts of the Armory, including the firing range, gym room, office spaces and the gymnasium.

The Economic Development Commission thanks Another American’s cast and crew for their interest in Ansonia, and looks forward to the successful completion of the
film.
