DERBY — A suspect allegedly connected to a shooting at Union Station in New Haven was arrested after police raided his residence on Mansfield Street in Derby on Wednesday night.
A Derby police spokesman said his department assisted the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit, the agency that served arrest and search warrants at the property.
Derby police identified the suspect as Dayron Sanchez, 19, of Derby, and alleged he was the shooter in the July 5 incident. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department has jurisdiction over the case.
The MTA Police have been looking for two suspects in connection to a July 5 shooting on a train platform at Union Station.
Authorities said a dispute on a train spilled out onto the platform, resulting in the shooting of a 34-year-old man. He survived, despite being shot several times.
The MTA PD’s press office said they would return a call seeking info later today.
