Police, ambulance and firefighters had their hands full with a large crash in the area of 502 Bridgeport Ave. Click play to hear the Shelton Fire Department talk about what they were dealing with.
Three cars and a Greater Bridgeport Transit District bus were involved in the 2 p.m. crash. Nobody on the bus reported injuries.
Two cars were heavily damaged and their drivers were cut out of the vehicles and sent to area hospitals, said Fire Capt. David Van Wart. The injuries did not appear to be serious.
The accident was under investigation. It is a straight stretch of Bridgeport Avenue, with a double yellow line in the center, meaning no passing on either side.
The road was closed for an hour from the Wal-Mart intersection up to Long Hill Avenue. Traffic was detoured from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
