Murder Suspect Had Schizophrenia, Mother Says

The man who police say killed five people — including three former Ansonia residents — in West Virginia this week had schizophrenia, according to an Associated Press article published Thursday.

Shayne Riggleman was not taking his medication, according to the article.

The bodies of Karin Richardson, 41, and her children, Kevin Hudson, 18, and Katrina Hudson, 22, were found inside their home in Morgantown, West Virginia, Monday, according to state police in West Virginia.

Katrina Hudson was six-months pregnant. Her boyfriend, Robert Raber Jr., 30, of West Virginia, was also killed.

Charles Richardson III, 49, of West Virginia, was also killed. He was Karin’s husband.

Kevin and Katrina’s father, Clifford Hudson, still lives in Ansonia. 

The shooting shocked family members and friends.

Riggleman is the main suspect. After the shooting, he allegedly drove over a woman and shot another person, before shooting himself.
